Mary Corbet's NeedlenThread.com is a great place to start and contains reference information and small projects you can try. The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) has started a Stitch Bank that contains over 200 different embroidery stitches from around the world RSN Stitchbank. To connect with other stitchers you can join the Embroidery Association of Canada, they have local chapters and also a virtual online group too! If you have been on my website in the last couple of weeks you will see that I have set myself a herculean task ... to reorganize my fabric listings on my website!

 This month I want to celebrate and show support for some of the small business I showcase on my website. I work with many types of small businesses, from Designer who sell from their own websites or Etsy, to people who have followed their passion for needlework into creating stitching accessories. For some it's a great 'side hustle' to feed their passions and others it's a stepping stone to being self supporting and full time! Below is only a small taste of what is out there! When I started Tiny Modernist's Octopus Biscournu I decided to use a hoop as I wanted it portable. Hello Everyone ... well to say my April was busy is an understatement! I had 2 Pop Up locations in Saskatchewan, a Stitching Retreat at Manitou Springs Spa & Resort in Watrous, SK and Pop Up Store in Saskatoon ... plus I got to spend the Easter Holiday with my family cooking and having fun! I couldn't do this without all my stitching friends here in Alberta...
