Catkin Crown Textile Studio was formed in 2019, when we were given the opportunity to acquire the beautiful Heathway Milano range of crewel wool embroidery thread from Langley Threads. We are based in the ancient market town of Hailsham, set in the rolling hills of the South Downs countryside. 

Heathway Milano is beautifully soft crewel wool that comes in a wide range of colours and is gorgeous to work with. The colour range was developed by John, who was the late expert colour consultant for Pearsall's, in partnership with Carol, under the Langley Threads banner. Upon John's untimely death, Carol continued the business, with the thread being dyed by Paint Box Textiles in Liversedge (West Yorkshire). 

This premium embroidery thread will continue to be dyed in West Yorkshire and will be appreciated by those who wish to avoid the thinning (which results in irregular stitching), pilling, fluffing or untwisting that can occur with other threads.
