“Godiva” came about when I was trying to come up with an idea for “wearable” needlepoint. “Godiva” is an easy and quick piece to stitch. Stitches include Smyrna, Diamond Jessica, Mini Sprats Head Heart, Alternating Skip Tent, Round Jessica, Elongated Smyrna, Herringbone Stripe, Long-armed cross and a Ray stitch variation. Threads used include DMC Perle Cotton and Kreinik Metallic Braid. When the design is stitched it can be embellished with Swarovski crystals, pearls or seed beads. This project can be finished into a wearable cuff bracelet, a box top or a book mark or even framed.

The colour palette shown is striking autumn colours of copper, rust, turquoise and brown.
