I wanted to try my hand at “quilting” on canvas. Part of the challenge was working on the diagonal that is not a “true” diagonal. “Mi Corazon” is the result and an exciting study of Layered Laid Filling patterns and a Darning Pattern background learning the ins and outs of mastering Compensation. The heart is edged with a beading variation and finished with a border of small hearts and beads. A variety of metallic threads and beads are used in this piece adding sparkle and zing.

This [pattern] will appeal to those who would like to learn new techniques while challenging themselves by mastering complex canvaswork stitches.

Size of Design: 7-3/4″ x 8″. Ground Fabric: 18 count White Opalescent mono canvas.
Skill Level: Intermediate Advanced.
