Join me in exploring Mardi Gras and the French Quarter. “Laissez le Bon Temps Rouler” is my interpretation. Using the Mardi Gras colours of Purple, Turquoise and Gold this is an exciting study of traditional and string art stitches. A newly configured Overlapping Ray Variation is the centre of this piece. From there a variety of interesting and intricate borders surround the centre to build the design. Stitches featured include Criss Cross Crescents, Crescent Waves, a variety of Jessicas, Ray Variations, Waffles and an interesting 3 colour encroaching border that looks like rope. A variety of metallic threads are used in this piece adding sparkle. Let the Good Times Roll.

This [pattern] will appeal to those students who would like to learn new techniques while challenging themselves by mastering complex canvaswork stitches.
