To me, PRIDE is all about supporting everyone's self expression. Feel empowered to adapt and change patterns to celebrate who you are! Join me while a new colourway is being developed and documented on social media in honour of PRIDE month in Canada!
I have a Thread Kit available for purchase if you wanted to stitch along with me. You can choose to do the pattern on the original 18 count mono canvas with Perle Cotton Threads (in the Blue or a new Rainbow colour palette) or pick the BIG version on 10 count canvas and Appleton Tapestry wool. The Pattern is available for download on Freda's website or you can order a paper pattern with me.
As I am developing the kit as I stitch, more skeins of wool may need to be purchased depending on what colours you end up using. I will be updating the kit after I have created the bag at the end of the month with the total amount of wool skeins I used. As with last year's kit, a portion of the sale price will be donated to a LGBTQ+2S charity in Calgary.

I have also opened registration for my August Weekend Retreat in Calgary - August 23 & 24 at Meadowlark Park Hall!
This time the event is closed to the public but starting in July I will have standard OPEN hours at my new warehouse location. Check my website next month for more information.

Switch out your thread type!
Designers do this all the time! Sometime it is because they are unable to get the threads in their home countries or they want to see what would happen to a particular stitch when using a different type of thread.
A good example is Hazel Blomkamp who stitches Jacobean Crewel in cotton & silk threads. (Her book is pictured below)
Feel free to email if you would like to convert a project into something else ... Cross Stitch in Silk! Canvaswork in Wool! Sashiko in Perle Cotton!

This is a closed event for retreaters only!
Space is limited to 35 stitchers
More floor space to spread out and 3 different table set ups ...
6 person, 5 person and 4 person tables!
It is recommended that Retreat Stitcher bring a pair of inside shoes (or slippers), light & extension cord if needed for stitching (there are lots of plugins)
The room is secured overnight so retreater’s stitching supplies can be left in place overnight on Saturday
There are food options are close by or your can use a delivery service.

Reserved Parking for people with mobility concerns is at the rear of the building with access in the front via stairs or a ramp (can be slippery).
If you have NO mobility concerns please use the additional parking on the street both in front, behind on Meadowview Road or Chinook Mall as short walk away. Chinook Mall is recommended during the Winter Months as it is cleared daily of snow.
Walking distance to Chinook Mall, for food or use Skip the Dishes for delivery.
