Embroidery Tip of the Month
HOW MUCH FABRIC SHOULD I BUY?
If you feel intimidated with having figure out how much fabric you need to buy you can always email me with your stitch count and the size of fabric you are using. I can help you make sure you have enough.
Here is what I do ...
Stitch Count # divided by Fabric count (stitches per inch) ... then add border amount (2"-3" each side)
145 stitches / 14 count = 10.36 inches + 3" + 3" = 16.36"
REMEMBER YOUR STITCHES PER INCH
Belfast 32 count Linen is 16 stitches per inch
... you stitch over 2 fabric threads so 32/2 = 16 count
Adding 3" to your fabric allows you options when you finish your stitching, stretching your design on foamcore or lacing your project needs this much extra fabric.
If you are unable to allow for this much of a border, you can use these great Mounting Board to frame your finished stitching.

Shedpoint is a Co-warehouse space where e-commerce businesses have limited open hours and have access to a shared Community Hall area for events.
Each Month I will host an open stitching afternoon open to anyone to drop by to browse, stitch, visit and make new friends.
